Description of material properties
(1) The characteristic of PEI is that it does not have high strength, high rigidity, wear resistance and dimensional stability at high temperature.
(2)PEI is amber transparent solid, does not add any additives has the inherent flame retardancy and low smoke, oxygen index of 47% combustion grade UL94-V-0.
(3) The density of PEI is 1.28~1.42g/cm3, the glass transition temperature is 215℃, the thermal deformation temperature is 198~208℃, and it can be used at 160~180℃ for a long time. The maximum permissible intermittent use temperature is 200℃
(4)PEI has excellent mechanical strength, electrical insulation performance, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance and fatigue resistance and forming processability; Adding glass fiber, carbon fiber or other fillers can achieve the purpose of enhancement and modification.
(5) The chemical structure of PEI is based on the unit repetition of aromatic linamides and ethers. It is stable to many chemicals, such as most hydrocarbons, alcohols and halogenated solvents, soluble in special halogenated solvents.
Typical application range:
PEI with its excellent performance, widely used in the automotive industry of high strength air temperature sensors, fuel system components, lamp holders, reflectors, jet engine parts, aircraft temperature resistant flame retardant decorative parts.
