在齿轮中使用PA46代替金属可节省40%以上的成本；PA46密度仅为钢的七分之一，由PA46制成的完整齿轮组的重量仅为金属齿轮组的40-60%；而且它的噪音和碳排放也较低，对于一辆中型车来说，使用PA46代替金属制造齿轮，每公里可以减少中型车每公里0.06克的碳排放

PA46具有优异的耐磨性能，尤其是在高温和干摩擦条件下，与PPA、PEEK和PA66等高性能材料相比，可减少高达50%的磨损，从而大大提高齿轮的耐久性。它可以将齿轮的使用寿命延长到标准的三倍

高速或高环境温度工作条件对齿轮材料的耐高温性要求极高。在长期温度高于100°C或短期温度高于140°C时，POM材料无法胜任该任务。与POM相比，PA46具有更好的耐温性，尤其适用于中冷集成电子节气门等高温应用

With the increasing pace of technological development, traditional metal gears are often unable to meet the requirements of design freedom and rapid upgrading. Plastic gears are becoming more and more widely used because of their good design flexibility, light weight, low cost based on one-piece molding, wear resistance, lubrication-free operation, low noise, etc.

The use of PA46 in gears instead of metal can save more than 40% of the cost; PA46 density is only one-seventh of steel, the weight of a complete gear set made of PA46 is only 40-60% of a metal gear set; and its noise and carbon emissions are also lower, for a medium-class car, the use of PA46 instead of metal manufacturing gears, per kilometer can reduce carbon emissions 0.06 grams per kilometer for a mid-size car.

PA46 provides excellent wear wear performance, especially at high temperatures and dry friction, and can reduce wear by up to 50% compared to high-performance materials such as PPA, PEEK and PA66, thus greatly improving gear durability. It can extend the service life of gears up to three times the standard.

High speed or high ambient temperature operating conditions place extremely high temperature resistance requirements on gear materials. At long-term temperatures above 100°C or short-term temperatures above 140°C, POM materials are not up to the task. Compared to POM, PA46 has better temperature resistance and is particularly suitable for high temperature applications such as intercooled integrated electronic throttles.
