Application:Used in electronics, aerospace other industrial areas, used as a metal substitute materials. Replace the metal fiber optic connectors with PEI. For the automotive area, such as for the manufacture of high temperature connectors, high power headlights and sign lights, external temperature control compartment of the vehicle sensors (air temperature sensor) and the control of air and fuel mixture temperature sensor (effective combustion temperature sensor). Also used as high temperature lubricants erosion pump impeller, distilled at 180 ℃ operation of ground glass joints (bearing interface), a non-lighting, anti-fog mirror.

Polyetherimide ( PEI ) is an amorphous, transparent and amber high performance thermoplastic with the characteristics common to this group – see polyetheretherketone ( PEEK ).Relative to PEEK it is less temperature resistant, less expensive and lower in impact strength.Polyetherimide ( PEI ) is prone to stress cracking in chlorinated solvents.
Applications of Polyetherimide ( PEI ) include electrical switchgear, connectors and other components, microwaveable cookware and “under-bonnet” components.
