耐候性

Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous, amber to clear thermoplastic with properties similar to the related plastic PEEK. Compared to PEEK, PEI is cheaper, but has lower impact strength and usable temperature.

Polyetherimide (PEI) is a super engineering plastic made from amorphous polyetherimide, an amber transparent solid, and a lower cost, higher yield thermoplastic polyimide compared to other aromatic polyimides.

Performance characteristics.

1. physical properties: non-crystalline; good dimensional stability; low creep sensitivity; small and uniform coefficient of thermal expansion; excellent strength-to-weight ratio; very good coloring resistance; FDA and NSF compliant

2. Heat resistance performance: high temperature stability; very high long-term heat resistance, heat deflection temperature of 220 ℃; glass transition temperature (Tg) of 217 ℃, HDT / Ae 190 ℃, can be used for a long time at -160 a 180 ℃ working temperature, allowing intermittent maximum use temperature of 200 ℃; thermal conductivity of 0.22 W / m / K

6. electrical properties: outstanding electrical properties; stable dielectric constant (down to 3.15) and dielectric loss and very high dielectric strength in a wide range of frequencies and temperatures; electrical insulation.

Weathering resistance.

PEI has excellent weathering resistance and can withstand UV exposure without any stabilizer. After 1000 hours of exposure in a xenon lamp weathering chamber, the tensile strength changes very little. The radiation resistance under beta ray is also better than PSF, PES, etc.

Radiation resistance.

PEI also shows good resistance to gamma radiation, with only 6% loss in tensile strength after cumulative exposure to cobalt 60 at a rate of 1 megarad per hour for 5000 megarads. In addition, PEI is transmissive to visible light, infrared and microwave and does not absorb.

Molding processability.

Unlike thermoset polyimide, PEI can be processed by conventional thermoplastic molding methods, and with perfect mechanical cutting and secondary decorative properties, a wide variety of parts can be manufactured.
